Len Hafetz, PhD., Founder & CEO

Len has led four software start-ups through growth and successful exits. He founded Mentor Communications to develop and sell software tools for integrating databases. After selling Mentor to EMC, he remained as a Vice President of EMC, where he was VP of Software Product Management and VP in Engineering managing advanced backup and restore products. Len also built and sold National Data Systems, a developer of portable computers. He was General Manager of SPMI, a satellite communications based security information firm that was a joint venture between Security Pacific and Bank of New York. As a VP of Encore Computer Resolution Systems Division, manufacturer of intelligent graphic display terminals and high-speed graphic workstations, he set up a manufacturing plant and produced its initial revenue stream. Len founded Easel and served as CEO from inception. Easel went public after reaching over $30MM in revenues. In addition, Len has served on the executive teams of Citicorp and Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. He was a general partner and founder of a company which successfully developed a medical instrument and has had lengthy consulting contracts with American Express and several other major corporations. Len holds a Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Connecticut and degrees in Mechanical engineering from NYU and Rutgers. He is presently a principal and founder of L & P Consulting.

Peter Lacey, Founder & CTO

Peter has nearly 20 years of product development experience including 10 years of management experience. Most recently, he spent four years at EMC where he managed development of storage products in the areas of backup/restore and DBMS internals. He also served as Product Line Manager for the ECC suite of applications in Software Product Management. Prior to EMC, Peter was Director of Product Development at Mentor Communications and was responsible for the V1 release of a database integration product and a real-time medical device monitoring product. He also has extensive experience in customer communications including formal and informal sales and technical presentations as well as customer problem solving. Peter has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University.
